TJF Hare and Partridge Nymph

The Hare and Partridge Nymph is a super buggy nymph that could represent a wide range of nymphs in a river. This is a favourite of Tom Jarman’s because it has a solid profile and plenty of movement when under the water. The gold bead and pink rib also provide a subtle trigger for the trout. This fly fishes very well early and late in the season, or when the water is slightly off colour. It also catches fish in crystal clear water so is a must-have for any anglers nymph box.

More fly information...

The Hare and Partridge Nymph is a favourite euro nymphing pattern in Europe and for Tom in Australia and New Zealand. It also fishes well under an indicator. This pattern is tied on a barbless jig hook for superior penetration on hook sets. With two sizes of tungsten, you can adjust your weight to suit the depth and pace of the water you are fishing. We recommend fishing 5x, 6x or 7x tippet to help the nymph sink to depth quickly and to improve the quality of the drift.
