Willow Grub

The Willow Grub is a ‘match-the-hatch’ pattern and a must-have fly pattern for encountering trout locked onto the small green grubs that fall off willow trees along river banks. Trout feeding like this can be challenging to tempt with anything other than an imitation of the naturals.

More fly information...

The Willow Grub is best fished as a single fly targeting rising fish. The fly can be fished on any size tippet, however, we recommend fishing slightly heavier tippet such as 4x or 5x because the fish feeding on willow grubs are often tight to structure and under trees.
The fly is tied on a barbless hook.
