TJF Tabanas Parachute Caddis

The Tabanas Parachute Caddis is a popular European dry fly and is one of Tom Jarman’s go-to caddis patterns. The deer hair wing on this pattern makes the fly incredibly buoyant, combine this with a parachute hackle and a hi-vis post and you have a fly with a great profile on the water that floats well and is incredibly easy to see in all light.

More fly information...

The Tabanas fishes best in medium to fast-paced water. It is also suited to suspending a nymph beneath it. It will comfortably support tungsten-beaded nymphs up to 2.8mm. This pattern is tied on a barbless dry fly hook. The fine point and gauge improve penetration on hook sets. We recommend fishing 5x, 6x or 7x tippets to improve the quality of the drift.
