Rusty River Hog
The River Hog is a take on the popular lake fly the ‘Sedge Hog’, but repurposed for the rivers. The two deer hair wings and a seal’s fur body help this fly float exceptionally well and with the hi-vis sighter on the front of the fly, it is easy to see on the water.

The River Hog is a great searching pattern that draws fish to it due to its size. It is particularly effective during the summer months when hoppers and other larger terrestrials are found along the rivers. It fishes well as a single dry and with a nymph beneath it. Due to its size, it can hold up heavy nymphs if need be.
We recommend fishing this fly on 5X tippet.
It is tied on a barbless dry fly hook.
