Jassid Beetle

The Jassid is a great terrestrial dry fly pattern for the lakes. It catches fish all year round and is particularly effective in Autumn when jassid falls occur and fish lock onto these bright red insects. This fly is tied with a seal’s fur body, foam back and cock hackle so it floats well and is easy to see.
Also a very effective general beetle pattern suitable for rivers, imitating an array of small terrestrial beetles such as tea tree beetles.

More fly information...

The Jassid is an excellent option for sight fishing as a single fly and can also be fished as a part of a team of dry flies. It can also be utilised as a more general beetle pattern, such as when anglers would fish a Red Tag.
We recommend fishing this fly on 3X or 4X tippet.
It is tied on a barbless dry fly hook.
