Jason B created: My first rod build an Epic 764-3

I just completed my first rod build. I've had the blank for a couple of years now but only really started building this rod over the last few months. I made many mistakes along the way but I managed to fix most of them and the build came out pretty clean in the end. Still flawed though! My colour scheme is bold but I like something a little different and loud. The colour scheme began from restoring my old bauer fly reel (last pic), which I had re-anodised blue and silver and then purchased an orange agate stripping guide.

Rod building is addictive and I'm already planning my next build which is a little six footer vintage lamiglass fly rod for my son. I expect the colour scheme on that one will be pretty rad too!

cheers,
Jason.

Loud and I like it.
Very nice, I think the colours work well together.

Thanks Mark. I must start that bamboo fly rod soon as well if I'm to finish it before Cressy cane. How you going with yours?

All of them planned; two glued; one getting the guides put on.
I hope to get another couple of rods done before the end of April.
Give me a call if you need any help or encouragement, the first seems daunting.
Cheers,
Mark

Thanks Mark, will do. I can't wait to start, it's just a matter of making the time. By the sounds of it you are motoring along with your rods!
