Hello, just after some advice please on rod ferrule repair.

My 10ft Sage Z-axis has a barely detectable hairline crack - it's in the 2nd section female ferrule. The coating on the outside of the ferrule has been chipped off also.

Just wondering if anyone can suggest a relatively easy fix that will get me fishing, for a while hopefully - could I wrap thread around the ferrule and coat it with something, such as clear araldite or epoxy? not sure what's used in this situation.

I understand that Sage will provide a warranty/replacement however at $90 US handling fee and postage/insurance costs I'll try the DYI first.

Ayy thoughts appreciated.

Regards, John

Repairing it yourself will probably void the warranty...
Pony up $90 bucks and sleep easy
