It will be a rough weekend. Not the accommodation, which is a water’s edge lodge with a spa and fireplace and room for 12. It’s the fishing, because Millbrook is a private wild fishery where the trout have been allowed to slowly grow to full size. And so by the time you turn up trying to catch them, they’re the smartest buggers you’ve ever had to pit your wits against. So expect some tough challenges; from having to choose which of the four spring fed lakes to fish first, to coaxing the cork from a tightly sealed oak matured red. We’re open all year.
