    Memories…1984, seems just like now.

    I drive the hunter up the Tooma river track to the steep lower bit of the Bog, marvellous day with a big trout from a plunge pool. Track out a bit steep and I had to really thrash the Grunter to get over a steep bit.

    Next week tried the same thrash trick closer to work at Shelley, and the engine ripped itself off the rubber mounts.

    Up top where the creek is flatter but bushy we drove in Paul’s HR, and caught them on tiny Christmas glitter coloured beetle nymphs. But there it’s always a poke rather than proper casts.
