Corixia or Water Boatman, even though they are a major food source for trout, are often overlooked by flyfishers. Staying close to cover,Corixia are air breathers and are continually popping up to the surface, trapping air with their bodies and then shooting back down to the bottom.Let the fly settle then lift so that it rises back to the surface.

Having advised the Elves of an imminent trip to the Snowies  one evening, the following morning revealed that they have been very busy indeed.

    Pinfry!

When the trout are on them hooking up can be a lottery.Suggestive rather than imitative offerings often stand out from the crowd of naturals.

Fishing wind lanes does have its challenges, however I have had a lot of success with this Diawl Bach variation.

Still focused on Wind Lane and Midge feeders. This black nymph is another fly that has bought many a Wind Lane and Midge feeder undone wherever I have used it; from the Grampians,to the Central Highlands and Eucumbene. It thoroughly deserves a place in any fly box.</span>
