Nice one Beechy. How do they cast?

Fine, a bit tough on the #6 weight could only fling 60′. The #7 would be better

An old mudeye pattern regurgitated for duty on estuary perch and redfin. Maybe some trout bycatch.

This is a work in progress, hoping to  bring some big browns undone, however there is still  some fine tuning to do.

You might get a platypus as bycatch with that yabbie fly….  just about a guarantee on the Mersey.

Nice detail and pretty innovative all the same.

Lucky you didn’t tread in it. 😂

Is that for a floating snail? Big floating snails used to be a big event at Lagoon of Islands and in the marshes at Lake Sorell.

Paying homage to Rob Sloan here with a Sunset Fly inspired Cod sized PopLip Fleye.

Sunset fly is size 8 for comparison next to the 6/0

Yep hopefully big enough to attract the interest of an Eildon dwelling Cod. The bulk in the head pushes a lot of water and creates the swimming action at slow speed but the bulk is hollow tied so the fly doesn’t carry much weight. 10wt territory to cast this and I find them easier to cast than a cod sized gurgler.
