Ta… I knew there was something going on there but couldnt quite work it out. Glad to hear of a good opening session up the NE. I have loved every trip I have had up there.

I had a Fathers day session with my daughter and the family up in the NE highlands down here on the island. We were exploring a new body of water that has only opened this season. We didnt expect the level of success we ended up having.

Keep those photos coming in MM, always something there to admire and try to imitate.

    Cheers..Jimmy

Love Dubbing loops…. they just about double the life span of flies. Just right for lazy old buggers, and

almost the only way for us mere mortals to deal with stuff like fox squirrel on wee little nymphs.

Gee the photo work on this thread is good value lads, its looking like there may be some competitive streaks being exposed…

    Cheers…Jimmy

Nice flies Chris. Just wondering what material is used for the tag in the red tags?

An old bloke showed it to me 30 years ago. Garfish, herring, skippy. I think the green is the attractor. Its a catcher.

With the helpful tips on technique from Forum members, I have attached my first attempt at a Leadwing Coachman wet fly.

I’m a novice at tying, so I’m trying to better my techniques by tying some basics. I’m having a rest from wings for the moment.  Rob

Jackobite Nymph really excels when dealing with fussy trout

.Its also worthwhile to tie these in other colours.Black and Claret feature prominently in my box.The black ones are done with red ribbing, claret with gold. However give your imagination free reign.
