Apart from the acronym, it is much better than my wildest expectations

well I guess it is fish porn of the highest quality – so the acronym is highly appropriate
    – I know I’ll be snatching one 8-)

I was shown a copy when I visited AFN in Bayswater to buy another book today – looks the business, real "fishing literature" definitely worth the asking price.
Just have to look out for a book signing in Melbourne sometime in August.

Looking forward to a long read when I get it in my hands.

I wouldn’t be worried about the price Greg, it is the content we pay for when we purchase a book from writers such as you, and with good books and writers it is a bonus that they come well bound and printed in many ways.

I suspect we would all pay $70 even if it was done on A4 copy paper and bound up with butchers string!

As the famous painter Whistler said in his defence when being prosecuted for selling a painting for one Guinea when it only took him ten minutes to paint; "oh for the work of a lifetime"!

Hopefully see you on the 29th.

    Neil.

I reckon the “A4 butchers string edition” has merit, it would be easy to slide a few pages out for a trip 😀

    Hi everyone

The book has today arrived at the AFN warehouse in Melbourne. Yay! Books will be sent to retailers tomorrow, and should be at FlyLife and other Tasmanian retail outlets by mid- to late next week (July 27/28, or a bit earlier if we are very lucky).

The launch at Petrarch’s Bookshop in Launceston will be at 6.00 p.m on Friday 29 July, and Philip Weigall will be there too launching his new book [i:u7gv0vfp]Fishing Sense[/i:u7gv0vfp]. Both Philip and I will return to Petrarch’s at 11.00 am on Saturday 30 July.

For those who can’t make it, remember that I will be signing books at FlyLife as soon as they arrive, and I can do personalised inscriptions if you email Ian and let him know what you want me to write.

    Thanks again for your support.

    Greg

    Hi Greg,
Do you mean that book pre-ordered from Flylife will have –
" All the best – Greg French"
    in it ?

    Yep.
Unless you want me to write something more personal.
    Cheers

    I’m so excited!
Greg, I recall a conversation that referred to a special edition… Did this end up happening?

Sure did. I think you put in an early order, but unfortunately readers that didn’t probably won’t be able to get one through FlyLife – I understand that they have sold out. AFN may still have some copies left though – Forumites can try contacting them on (03) 9729 8788. The cost for this gold-embossed leather edition with slipcase is $170.00, and there were only 150 printed (I know – I had to sign them all).

And, hey, you might want to buy several copies since your photo appears in the book s:up
