    Hi,

So the time has come to plan our second trip to Tassie, which is slotted for mid Jan 2027. We are thinking of being a little more strategic about this time around and hiring a guide for a full day of guiding at the beginning of our trip to give us a bit of a head start on the lakes specifically.

Ideally, we would fly into Hobart, do a day with the guide, and then continue our trip armed with more knowledge.

Can anyone recommend a guide service that can take a couple of people for a day of guiding?

    Cheers

Try Matt Stone of Trout Tales, or Ray Curran of Red Tag Tours. Both are based in the south. In the north, try Scott Murphy of Tasmania Flyfishing. All are excellent guides and guide across the state.

Hi Adrian, you are most welcome.  The season has been going well so far. The weather has been much kinder after the winds last year when the Antarctic vortex collapsed.  I’ve only been out a few a few times but the fish I have encountered have been in great condition, and I managed to fool two of my nemesis fish last trip, both 3+ lbs.  Damsels are already showing, so hopefully another good damselfly year.
