    when the water temps rise in those depleted waterholes the oxygen levels will drop and it will be even worse. i’m convinced that it will be many years before it comes back to what it was, if it does at all. i’m talking upstream of sundown NP anyway, where there is NO water.

    with the current large scale fires at dorrigo and near drake in the clarence catchment i wouldn’t be surprised if there was a fish kill if there is a decent rain event. ash makes the water highly alkaline. it’s happened before.

    just heard today that there is an effort underway to relocate fish from menindee lakes.

    overall it’s a bit depressing.
