It has just been reported in the media that a 10 km section near the town of Mitta had 1000 dead fish between 15 and 20 cm along the banks on the weekend. Victorian Fisheries Authority and the EPA are investigating. Must have been a chemical spill. One can only hope the culprit is identified and that it was accidental.

Strange how they were all small fish.Hopefully it is all sorted out soon and the river and fishery recovers.
