    Hi all,

I’ve just ordered the Epic 3wt 7’0 fast glass rod kit. Once built, I plan to use this rod for twigging in the small Otway streams using mostly (but not always) a dry dropper rig.

On the Epic website they recommend a ‘true to weight’ (100gr.) weight forward for weighted nymphs. However, they don’t seem to sell their own Epic fly line in a WF 3wt.

Any recommendations? And because most of the time there would not be more than 30ft of line out, would it even matter if it is a DT or WF line? Isn’t it more about the front taper?

    Thanks!

The DT would be fine. I had the 7’6″ 4wt and IMO it was nicer to cast with their DT 4wt than with a 4wt SA GPX line with is a half line size heavier, particularly at the short distances you are talking about. But of course YMMV
