Just returned from a trip to Monduran Dam where I was lucky to hook and land a 112 cm Bara on a 10 wt fly rod.
If you get an opportunity to fish for these fabulous fish in the large impoundments around Qld then do so.
The sheer power and strength of Bara are an exciting experience and to bring one to hand amongst the snags and dead trees a remarkable feat in itself.This fish is my new PB for the species but I will be looking to improve on this on my next trip to Monduran Dam.
