Me too Tocs. I keep on teasing mrampant, but I can’t get him to rise. Maybe I should try another fly.
It could be that he’s too well fed.
Still castin’ carbon.

asmeParticipantA very interesting article by Jeff. I also have a Boris Gasper bamboo rod as do Ray and Milan. We were all there at the start of his rod building journey and the accompanying photo is an example of what I refer to as the 3B club, Boris’ Bamboo Brigade, all rods are made by Boris. Since his move to Tasmania I’m not sure if he is back in production yet.

NymphomaniacParticipantI appreciated the short story on getting old. I’m turning 54 and have to wear glasses to tie on light tippet and find the eyelet and even with my glasses it’s hard to see light tippet in the early morning. I bought a pair of cheap slightly higher magnification glasses from the chemist that do a better job. Add two frozen shoulders over the last three years which makes getting the vest and backpack on and off a real pain (literally) and just getting in and out of waders and wading socks …………………………….everything just seems to be getting harder. I just take a deep breath and slow down.

Have you tried those clip on Carson magnifyers? I just clip mine to me regular glasses. I can even tie #20 on the vice with these. Even tippet rings look like lifesavers.
I will, however, start to worry if I need them to tie my 1/0 decievers and 50 lb shock tippet….
Sorry, I can’t help with getting in and out of things. I sold my Ferrari and Lambo years ago so I could afford a bamboo rod….(kidding)….still cant afford a bamboo rod. or a Ferrari… or a Lambo…

Thanks for the heads up Adrian. I haven’t seen the Carson magnifiers. I’ll check them out. Ta.

gumnutsParticipantShags!
Most trout I’ve been getting in Konongwootong and NEVictoria have scars that look like bird bills.
there are many heavy looking cormorants sitting in the branches looking rather guilty.
If I get with 100 yards of them in my kayak they are off
the damaged fish are in the 750g plus sizes. Not seeing any smaller fish damaged or not
draw your own conclusions
