Fishing

This stream is small and tight, so you will want to bring a short light rod such as a 7’6 3 weight. When the river is high and flowing quickly, fishing a nymph below dry in the softer water will catch you plenty of trout. Through most of the season it flows at a lovely height for fishing a single dry fly, the fish are very opportunistic in this stream so are very willing to eat a wide range of food sources and of all sizes.

Access

The river runs along the side of the Loch Valley Road where there is plenty of good river access. There are also a few camp grounds along the river where you can gain access to the river. The river is fishable all the way from the La Trobe River right up to the Loch’s headwaters, there are lots of trout evenly spread throughout the whole river.
