Fishing
Early in the season fishing streamers and wet flies is very productive, you can also target tailing fish in low light feeding over the grassy shores. As the season progresses you will start to see good hatches of mayfly in warm overcast conditions and big midge hatches in calm conditions, targeting these fish with dries and nymphs is very productive. Over summer you can experience big gum beetle and ant falls providing anglers with great dry fly fishing. On clear blue sky days you can also find some great polaroiding in the shallows provided the water is clear. From summer onwards you can experience a great mix of fishing that can include all of the above, be prepared to fish dries, nymphs or wets on any given day as the type of fishing you can experience varies so much.
Access
Boat fishing provides terrific access to all areas of the lake, but do take note of water heights as it can vary greatly, and there are plenty of submerged rocks and trees. Boat ramps are located at Jonah Bay, Pumphouse Bay, the Dam Wall and Morass Bay. Land based fishing is also very accessible, there is terrific water in the northern bays such as the Cowpaddock and Seven Pound Bay, Jonah Bay and Pumphouse Bay are also very good. Essentially there are fish everywhere, so if you can get to the water you can find fish.
