Located on the border of the Kosciuszko National Park, Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa is a natural playground nestled in the Thredbo Valley surrounded by the spectacular Snowy Mountains.

Just 15 minutes from Thredbo and Perisher Resorts (Perisher Ski Resort is accessed via the resorts 150 metre private driveway to the ski tube operating during winter only). Its unique setting and many complimentary activities appeal to both couples and families to relax and absorb the scenery or experience the many mountain activities on resort and in the local area.

Lake Crackenback is a perfect base to explore the region from sightseeing, local attractions, snowsports in winter and the many summer activities including Segway eco tours, walking, mountain biking, canoeing, archery or fishing.

Fishing & Guiding

All Half- and Full-Day Guided Sessions are fully catered with Polaris/4WD transport, fishing equipment and flies, waders, Gore-Tex outerwear, gourmet eats, local beer (or soft drink) and National Parks entry. Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa is licensed to access a huge variety of streams, lakes and creeks in Kosciuszko National Park, more so than any other commercial fly fishing operator in Australia. Whether you are intent chasing big numbers of wild trout in backcountry alpine creeks, or pursuing that trophy Brown Trout on the mighty Thredbo river – we have the operation that will be tailored for you. W e advise that all participants wear sunglasses and a brimmed hat and natural coloured clothing for all half and full day expeditions.

Accommodation & Dining

Our Lake View Apartments offer spectacular lake & mountain views featuring spacious living areas, cosy fireplaces and private balconies/patios designed to capture the sunset over the magnificent Thredbo Valley.

Our Mountain View Chalets offer a variation of dual key accommodation styles from studios to 4 bedroom chalets. Chalets are privately owned and built, privy to tremendous mountain vistas, quality furnishings, spacious interiors and classic features such as open fireplaces and outdoor entertaining decks. Chalets have access to all Resort facilities.

The chalets’ gardens are that of the Resort’s and outlined by the pristine waters of the Little Thredbo and Thredbo Rivers offering world class fishing, natural stream fed swimming pools and perfect walking trails.
