Patagonia Sun Hoody

Slip-slop-slap has its place, but rock-hopping under an alpine sun or shuffling the sand on a Christmas Island flat can still leave a few red faces by the end of the day. And don’t even mention the pain of having suncream and sweat running into your eyes as a school of bones approaches.

Enter the sun hoody.

I’ve been using Patagonia sun hoody style shirts since my first trip to Christmas Island a few years ago (that’s me in the mug shot), and like all of our customers and friends who use them, I’m a convert. Made of lightweight, fast-wicking and quick-drying materials, these shirts are the epitome of functionality. With hoods tailored to fit over a cap, just add a pair of polaroids and a buff, and all of a sudden the need for hourly suncream is gone. Even windburn takes a backseat.

Discreetly hidden zips, relaxed fit for comfort, straight cuffs with thumb holes for sun protection of your hands, and re-inforced forearms and side panels on the men’s hoody are some of the other great features. They are even trendy enough to wear to and from the airport.

Do your skin a favour, and check out the men’s Patagonia Sunshade Technical Hoody, and women’s Patagonia Sunshade Hoody.
